week 37

The doctor said I was about 75% efaced and a fingertip dilated. If we go in next week and have dilated more, he wants to induce that Thursday and Friday. If not, it will be the next week. I am not sure how I am feeling. I am just out of sorts I think. There are so many emotions, and they are all happening at the same time. It is hard to talk to others and be around a lot of people bc I do not do well with others seeing me be vunerable and I can't express how I am feeling. It doesn't help that I am not sleeping. It has been really hot and I am pretty swollen and my wrists/hands are a mess. However, Jack is doing great and I love to feel him moving around. It is so sweet. My cousins Josh, Meg, and precious Kenzie came through Saturday and spent the night on their way home from the beach. WHAT A GREAT DISTRACTION. It was so nice to just sit around and laugh and talk. The weather was perfect, so we sat outside on the deck and relaxed. There has been so much going everytime we have been together that we haven't had chance to just enjoy each others company. We look forward to more of this in the future and watching our children grow together.

week 36

We went to the doctor Tuesday and I had gained two more lbs. Whatever!!! Anyways, he said the baby was low and that my cervix was 50% thinned out. I was surprised. I didn't expect for anything to have happened, so that was exciting. We are doing an ultrasound next week to see how big Jack is and then meet back with the doctor. I have been so pleased with Dr Ashurst and am so gald he is our doctor.

Thursday night, I had some false labor for about an hour. At one point, I thought Oh my goodness....this is it. I got so sad. As bad as my carpal tunnel is, I don't want it to be over. I can't imagine not feeling him in my belly anymore. Being pregnant is the most amazing feeling ever. I know Scott is excited and ready to meet him but I don't want to share and give this up.

week 35

This week a friend did an ultrasound and Jack is already weighing 6lbs 11 oz. What a big boy. Even my friend thinks they got the dates wrong, but they didn't. He is just BIG. We go to the doctor next Tuesday. It is hard to believe he will be here in a few weeks.

week 34

I am HUGE!!!!Went to the doctor this week and I have gained four more lbs...that is 8 in 4 weeks. What in the world. The doctor is saying that I am holding a lot of fluid and the baby is measuring big. However, my blood pressure and everything else is great. I am starting to get really tired during the day, which is weird. I am just used to GO GO GO and my body won't let me do that anymore. This weekend my mom and I finished getting the things that we needed like the monitor, daiper champ, etc. Then I worked on getting all the baby stuff organized and put up. Daddy put together the stroller and installed the car seat. We praticed pushing around Quack not Jack.

The shower week 33

The shower was beautiful. It was given by Jess, Meg, Aunt Carroll, Amanda, Lindy, Deonna, and her mom Donna. The attention to detail was out of this world. There were so many things that were made and this made it extra special. My Aunt Carroll made the flower arrangement that was beautiful. The cake was brought by Lindy and was the cutest cake I have ever seen (plus Yummy). Amanda made the most adorable little diapers that held nuts. Jess hand tied the silverware with different colored ribbon and my Aunt Nancy made the centerpiece. It was so unique....I loved it!!!!!!!! There was so much yummy food. We had everything from humus to chicken salad to fruit and cheese. Everyone worked so hard and did so much for this event. It was unbelievable. Then there were all the guest that came. We had around 30 people. The lake group came, several of my friends from the hospital in Auburn, and my really close friends and family were there. It is so amazing to feel the love from everyone for my little Jack. Thank you to everyone You did way too much and also thank youto those that took the time to come and help us celebrate this special day. We love you.

Week 33

This has been a crazy week, but the nursery is done. Yeah Daddy!!! I have had severe sinus issues, but so has everyone else in the South. I had so much stuff going on with work and had to keep going; however, on Thursday Jack gave me a big scare. I started bleeding and he didn't move for over 12 hours. I was so scared. We went to Labor and Delivery and they monitored us for about an hour. And guess what, he was started moving again. The doctor said everything was fine, but that I needed to slow down. I had an event that night that I did not attend after this happened. I guess this was God was of making me slow down.

Today is the day of my last baby shower and I am so excited. Jess, Chris, and Logan got here yesteraday around 1. Then my mom came over and helped me finish cleaning and wanted to visit with everyone. Amanda and Kennedy made it around 4. She is so tiny; She really is like a baby doll. Logan was flirting a little but thats ok bc he can practice until Jack gets here. Kennedy is Jack's girlfriend, but she will bring him a hottie once they get a little older. Uncle Bud, Aunt Carroll, and Nana came by shortly after and we had a wonderful visit. Then Josh, Meg, and Kenzie arrived around 6. There are babies everywhere. I love it. Our house is perfect with all the children here. I am having so much fun, I can't stand it. I am going to be sad when everryone leaves, but in the mean time........I can't wait to see everything at the shower. I know everyone has worked so hard and put so much love into the things they have done.

Week 32

Ok. I am starting to get to the not so fun part. First, I went to the doctor and gained 4lbs in 2 weeks and I am not eating any different. Baby is measuring big but we will see what happens. I am having issues with my hands, fingers, and sometimes my arms going numb and or burning, so the doctor put me in wrist splints at night. It's nothing that can affect the baby, just carpel tunnel that is aggrevaited by pregnancy. Other than that everything seems good. Just getting big. Jack seems happy and content so that is all that matters. Big brother Zach came this weekend and is excited about the arrival of his little brother. We had a great visit.

week 31

Down to the single digits. Only 9 more weeks to go. We are getting a little anxious, at least mommy is. All these questions are going through my head. Will I be a good mom? How will I know what to do? Will Jack be healthy? Am I going to make it through labor. I think the scariest part is just not knowing. My OCD and control issues don't really help.

On another note, we took our last road trip this week for a while. Daddy and I went to Atlanta on Saturday to stay with Josh, Megan, MacKenize. Chris, Jess, and Logan came over Saturday and we all went to the neighborhood egg hunt then went for a hike. Scott carried MacKenzie back in the baby Bjorn...very cute. Josh cooked hamburgers and Hot dogs, and we just had a relaxing day. It was great. It 's hard to believe that Jack will be here soon and there will be three of them. Sunday was the big baptism and it went perfect. Logan slept through it all and Kenzie did great. It was very special and emotional. We love those sweet babies!!!!!

Montgomery Baby Shower

What a wonderful day. Today I had my first baby shower and it was amazing. It was given by Teresa, Wendy, Amanda Mathews, Mrs. Linda, Mrs. Brenda, and Mrs. Kathy. They did way too much. The decorations were adorable. Not only are my friends precious, they are very talented. They did everything by hand including the flowers, the diaper cake, and food. I love them all very much and will never forget this day. I could not believe the people that came. I think we probably had about 25-30 in all, but there were so many people that couldn't come and still sent gifts. Most of the people are friends I have made from work both past and present. One of my best friends, Calley, drove in from Atlanta and even brought Daddy a present so he wouldn't feel left out. It was a Lynyrd Skynyrd onesie and a signed Braves baseball. How sweet was that. My aunt Carroll, Mrs. Shelia, and Mrs Vicki (who came all the way from Nashville)were all there to help us celebrate. I think Nonna had just as much fun as I did. She may be a little excited about being a Grandma, I think she was glowing too. Jack was literally showered with gifts. I can't believe all the things he received. He got his swing, a bouncey, an exercise jumpey, the womb sound lambs, some beautiful quilts and blankets, several rubbies, burp clothes, picture books, and so MANY of the cutest clothes I have ever seen. He even got his first hunting outfit and his very first Christmas ornament. I have never felt so special and so loved. God has truly blessed us with wonderful friends and it was unbelievable to feel the love and excitement from everyone else for Jack. Thank you everyone for such a special day.

week 30

I went to the doctor on Tuesday and everything is still good. I am up to 22lbs, so I am not sure how much longer I will be reporting this data. My feet and legs are starting to swell but that is normal. I have had heartburn for the first time in my life this week. Maybe Jack is growing hair? (This old tale is actually medically true)
My first baby shower is Saturday and I am so excited. I can't wait to see all my friends and co-workers. My mom was so sweet and wanted me to feel extra special on Saturday. So she took me to Birmingham and bought me the cutest outfit. While we were there I finished up getting some things for some of the decor for the nursery. She made the cutest liners for the baskets under the changing table. I am still working on a few things but will post updated picks of the nursery Saturday after Daddy finishes hanging a few more things. Gifts have started arriving in the mail. Its like Xmas. My Aunt Mary, Sandy, and Cindy sent us the activity mat, car mirror, and some diaper rash cream. How sweet. One of the doctors and his wife gave us the mobile that we had registered for at one of the local baby boutique and my sister-n-law, Ginger, sent us a baby blanket that she made which I love. Thank you to everyone.

Does 10 weeks make a Difference?

DO I LOOK ANY DIFFERENT?
WEEK 29

WEEK 19

week 29

This week we had Baby Boot Camp. This is an all day Saturday class that includes a tour of the hospital. The best part was that on our lunch break we went and got our chair for the nursery. I love this chair. Anyways, Back to the class..... It was nice for Scott and I to tour the hospital and spend the time together. they provided us with a lot of good information. However, they showed so many vaginal births from start to finish that I almost got sick and I work in medical and don't have a weak stomach. then it was on to a C-section. No wonder a woman's body never recovers from this. Good grief. This scared the mess out of me. Option 1=vaginal birth Option 2= C-section. WHAT IS OPTION 3? Anybody?

Working on the nursery

Our nursery is a work in progress. Daddy finished the floors the beginning on the week and what a drastic difference they make. Scott did a great job. The walls are painted, the floor is done, and now we have the crib and changing table too. Lindy and Kyle came over last night (brought tons of baby stuff)and we put everything together and had dinner. I miss them terribly. The walls are painted, the floors are done, and now we have the crib and changing table too. The nursery looks great so far. I was a little concerned that the wall color was too bright but it looks so good with the bedding and the white furniture. My mom took the quilt bc she is going to fix it so we can hang it on the wall. She is also looking for material to make liners for the baskets in the changing table. Thanks Nonna. Its all coming together. Here are a few pictures just to get an idea.

3rd Trimester

WOW, It's hard to believe we are starting the third trimester. Everything is still great and I feel wonderful. I love being pregnant. Jack is moving like crazy. He has been so active that it makes my tummy a little sore but I still love it. I went to the doctor and BP is good with a Total weight gain of 18 lbs.

week 26

This week was a busy week. GO -GO-GO. Just because you are pregnant doesn't change your work load. People have started feeling compelled to touch my belly this week. I am not sure how I feel about this. I don't mind at all if its someone I am closed to, but you would be surprised at the randoms that will just walk right up to you and start rubbing on your stomach. It's weird. Saturday, I had to go to an all day CEU class; however, while I was gone Daddy started working on the nursery. When I got home he had painted the walls and ripped up all the yucky old carpet. YEAH DADDY!!!!!!!!!!

week 25

Happy Valentines Jack. Daddy surprised us with a 11 roses. 1 for every year we have been together and Jack left me a single rose and a card. The card was very cute. The card said "MOM Here's a little Valentines Hello.....and a great big hug!!! Lots of Love XOXO" Jack put " (in a scribble way of writing."I will have to Hug you from the inside out this year. Love, Jack" Isn't that adorable. I cried bc this is my first mommy card. How exciting. Daddy did good.

week 24

I have been looking forward to this week for over a month. It was superbowl weekend and we are taking off work Monday. Scott and I went to Atlanta and got to see Kenzie , Josh, Meg, Jess, Chris, Logan, Uncle Don, Barbara, Brian, Hope, Daniel, Mimi and Papa 7. It is great to be surrounded by family right now. Kenize is not crawling at all anymore. In fact, she runs everywhere. She is absolutely adorable. It is hard to believe how much she has changed in just one year. This was also my first time to get to hold little Logan and I didn't want to put him down. If he wasn't nursing or with his Mimi, I had him or at least wanted to be holding him. I am not really sure what Jack thought of me holding him. Jack has been very active and I could feel him 4-5 times a day, but things changed when we got to Jess's. When I first picked up Logan and was holding him on my belly, Jack gave him a big kick. Well Logan kicked him back.....and that was it. He really didn't move the rest of the time we were there. I am not sure if Jack knew that was his buddy and was ok with it or if he was pouting. It was great to see Scott loving on Kenzie and Logan too. He is going to be a great dad again. I hope motherhood comes as natural to me as it did to Jess. After we left I started doubting myself, but I guess this is natural. I just want to be the best mom I can possibly be.

week 23

This week has been like Christmas. Daddy finished the tile back splash in the kitchen and it looks fabulous. He's so talented. Hopefully Jack will inherit some of this from his Dad. Then, our toilet and sink for the half bath on the main floor were installed. Isn't it amazing the things that make us happy as we get older. As Jack gets bigger and pushes on my bladder, it will be quite the convenience not to have to walk down a flight of stairs every time to Potty. Also the quilt for the nursery came this week. It is adorable!!!!! I can't wait to see the nursery come together, but we are going to wait till the end of the month to start on that project. I can feel him move several times through out the day. It is so amazing and is truly an indescribable feeling. This is the most amazing thing that I have ever experienced. What a blessing.

week 22

Scott felt the baby move for the first time this past Sunday. I was laying on my back and I placed Scott's hand on my belly and he kicked him 3 times. He hasn't been able to feel it since but I am sure he will soon. I am feeling him more and more. He tends to get really active around 2-3 in the afternoon and then late at night. It is so amazing to feel him. I am awake a lot more at night. I get up around 4-6 times a night. My mom ordered all of the bedding for the nursery. It was all on back order and she decided to that for her gift to us, so that we would have by the time the baby comes. It will come in three different shipments, and I got the first one today. I love it. Thanks Nonna and Ronald.

My Name

By the way. We have 100% decided on a name. Our sons name is
Jack Jameson Ruppert.
We love it and aren't going to change it, so if you don't like it just keep your opinions to your self. Thank you.

week 21

Baby Logan is here. He was born at 8:51 weighing 7 lbs 4 oz and is 19 inches long. Logan is adorable!!!!! Jess ended up having to have a c-section bc her blood pressure was up. This got me thinking about my own delivery. I am not sure how I feel. I would like to have a natural birth but if there is any question of distress then I would not question the doctors about a section. There are pluses and minuses to both and we will just have to put our trust in God. I am sad for Jess bc she still hasn't been able to hold or see her baby since he was born. However; he is doing much better and Daddy is recording everything. It has been around 8 hours. Good luck to the nurses trying to get him away from her when she finally gets her hands on him. We will go back in a few weeks to visit and love on him after they get home and settled.

Week 20

Scott and I went to the doctor Tuesday for a check up and ultrasound. Jack was cold and didn't want to move around much. (We are having record temperatures), but we were able to see he was still a boy. Everything is right on track. I have gained 9 lbs total but it feels like more. He is up to my belly button now and I feel him a little more. This weekend I went to see my friend Amanda. We spent the day together playing game with her boys and tending to Kennedy. She is such a good baby. I changed a few diapers but no Stinkys. I refuse to do that until I have too. Amanda has been great and so supportive. She bought Jack 3 outfits and would have bought tons more but I stopped her. She went with me so I could register for my big items at Babies-R-Us. This place is a little overwhelming , but she made it fun. In fact, I was so excited when I left....It is starting to feel more real. We say that Jack is Kennedy's future husband. Of course everyone says they can't be together bc their child would be really crazy. Only time will tell.

week 19

Okay, I definitely look pregnant. I think my belly is growing daily. Scott and I went to Atlanta this week for Mackenzie's first b-day. WOW what a big girl she is and she is so sweet. They changed so fast and so much. Josh and Meg's new home is beautiful and they were great hosts. They cooked the entire time we were there and it was YUMMY. We had a great time with everyone. New Year's eve there ended up being 3 pregos so we almost out numbered the rest of them. LOL Jess still looks great but is ready for Logan to come. One day, we all went on a eventful nature hike. Meg had a shortcut that would be less strenuous....so much for Jess's bed rest. In fact, I am surprised she didn't go into labor. We all got a good workout. Jess and I went to the outlet malls and shopped for our boys. That was a blast. I cried at one point bc the next time I see Jess she will be having Logan. It has been so great to be pregnant together and I am selfishly sad that it is over. However, I am equally excited to meet Logan. Jack loaded up on Christmas gifts. Jess and Chris gave the most adorable overalls with a henley shirt. Aunt Nancy gave a footed rainbow sleeper and boo bunny. Meg's parents gave us a mobile for the pack-n-play, a blanket, a pacifier holder, and some foot rattles. Nana made us the most adorable ABC baby blanket. Josh and Meg gave us a clacker along with a travel bed. We were shocked. Thanks everyone.
