Week 18

Merry Christmas!!!! I have popped. I am wearing maternity clothes now. I don't care for them but what do you do. I am just so thankful to Amanda and Nanal for letting me borrow theirs. We have had a wonderful holiday. Zach was here this week and he thinks it is cool that we are having a baby. He is going to make a great big brother, and we are lucky that the baby will have such a good role model. Mom had all of us over Wednesday night for a wonderful Christmas dinner. Christmas eve I went to church with Aunt Carroll and Uncle Bud. It was beautiful. When it was time to sing Silent Night, they dimmed the lights and the church glowed from the candle light. It was a time of reflection of self and over the past. Although we lost grandmother this year, MacKenzie was born, and Jess and I both found out we were pregnant. I cried through most of it but it was very emtional. I miss my Dad. He would have been so excited I was having a boy, but I know he is watching over us. Then we went to Scott's mom's on Christmas day. It was a lot of driving but we had a nice visit. She is excited about the baby. I am pretty sure I felt him move Christmas night after we came home. I want to feel it again. We are definitely going to call him Jack, but are still working out the actual name that will go on the birth certificate. Scott and I are agreeing on names, thank goodness. I am so excited about next week. We are going to see Josh, Megan, Jess, Chris, and MacKenize. Kenzie is going to be one, Jess is about to deliver, and I am half way through my pregnancy. Time is going by so fast.

week 17

It is still a boy!!!!! My friend Teresa wanted to check again....to be sure. He was showing off this day. We still don't have any pictures but I got to see him. He had his arm propped up by hid head. He is so cute and has attitude already. I went to the doctor this week and had only gained 3 pounds for a total of 7 so far. However, I am growing. We listened the heartbeat and everything is good. I go for my official ultrasound Jan 5 and then we will have pictures to post. I wanted to show baby's first outfit (Bought by Nonna and Ronald).

week 16

Daddy's birthday was Tuesday, so I arranged for us to meet Kathy, Frank, Jason, and Deonna for dinner that night. We had a good time. On the way home, Scott told me how excited he was about having a boy and how he looked forward to raising his little buddy. Isn't that sweet. The next night I had a work dinner so I didn't get home late and Thursday I had a Christmas party in Birmingham. By Friday, I was just tired and whiny. I did get to see my Best Friend Amanda and her little girl. Kennedy is so sweet and adorable. I couldn't put her down. I hope I am able to put our baby down for naps, but there is nothing better than to hold a little baby while they sleep. I went to try on maternity clothes and they were are hideous except one pair of pants. It probably didn't help the girl I was with weighs like 95 lbs and has never been pregnant. Anyways, I came home and slept for 10 hours. I didn't even get up to tinkle and that is unheard of. Saturday, Scott painted the new half bathroom and I cleaned. He has been working really hard on the addition. Hopefully, the main level part will be done by the first of the year and the upstairs by the time the baby is here. Baby and I love Daddy very much.

week 15

It's a BOY!!!! We found out Friday. One of my closet friends, Teresa, scanned me Friday morning. Teresa is on the right and my friend Queenie on the left. After the ultrasound Scott had to go back to work, so we took separate cars. I cried the whole way to Montgomery. Teresa and I have been through so much together and she has been a rock for me. It was extra special that she was the one that was going to show us the gender and everytime I thought about it I would get all emtional. Scott was more impressed with how big and clear the baby was. We could see the spine, arms, hands, feet, etc. I was relieved to see the brain and the spinal cord was just perfect. I haven't had any caffeine my entire pregnancy, so when I drank a Mountain Dew that morning the baby was dancing like crazy (which was the point). However, about three hours later I crashed. We weren't able to take any pictures because everything is digital now and this was under the table. Afterwards, I went to breakfast with my mom and Ronald to tell them the sex of the baby. Mom is overjoyed. With me being as only child, she was hoping for a boy. I think the picture says it all.

week 14

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

This has been the best week yet. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Scott brought Zach home Thursday around lunch time. Good grief, he grows everytime we see him. He is now as tall as Scott. We had a wonderful dinner just the 5 of us: mom, Ronald, Zach, Scott, and I. Lots of yummy things to eat. Stuffing is better PREGO. Zach is excited about being a big brother, but he wants it to be a boy. We will find out next week. I tried on some maternity jeans but they are still to big. I have some fat clothes so that is what I am wearing. The problem is my tops; they are too tight and/or too short. I am in the in between phase, I guess. I still feeling great!!! On Friday, we all went to Auburn and tailgated. Baby's first of many victories over Auburn. Hooray.

week 13

This has been a wonderful week. I went to the doctor Tuesday and we got to hear the heartbeat again. It was avergaing 153 beats per minute which is perfect. 13 weeks......We made it over the hump. The first trimester is when most problems happen and it is over. Dr Ashurst told me I could breath again. As much as I have enjoyed it, I have always been a little scared. Doing ultrasound for so long and having studied all the things that can go wrong, leave a little bit of worry in a new mommy. I prayed about it and it would go away. I made up my mind that I wasn't going to let it get to me. I have waited for a long time for this and I am going to enjoy it and I have.
My best friend Amanda had Kennedy on Friday, Nov 20. She had a c- section and it was over very quickly. I got to hold her first. She is just perfect. Amanda and I say that I am either carring her best friend or her future husband. It is hard to believe that in 6 months that will be Scott and I.

What a great weekend. I got to spend time with my mom and my Aunt Carroll while staying at Susan's house preparing for the shower. It was great. We laughed we cried and everything in between. Friday, we all went and saw little Logan followed by going out to eat. There was 11 adults and 2 kids. It was great. Jess looks so cute. She is all baby.
Saturday was the shower. I think it turned out beautiful. It was all based around Jess's turtle theme. We had so much fun just spending time together talking about the past. It was fun to hear the stories of when my mom and Aunts were pregnant with us. Megan and I got to spend some time together which was nice. Kenzie is at the age where she is getting into everything so she is keeping mommy and daddy very busy. She is still the sweetest child and she always make you smile. Although the shower was for Jess, I ended up getting a few surprise gifts as well. First, Susan (Jessica's Mother-n-law) got baby a precious little ducky outfit. Then Nana made me three burp clothes and two baby blankets. Lastly, my Aunt Nancy, gave me a Pandora bead and made me a scrap book. It is the most precious gift I probably will get. She wrote the most beautiful poem about my pregnancy, my mom, and my dad. I cried so hard and will have to stop or I will start crying again. It was a great weekend and hated to see it end. By the way....Bama beat LSU 9-0.

Headed to Atl

Leaving in the morning with my mom headed to Atlanta. It is time for Jess's (my cousin) baby shower that we (Aunt Carroll, mom, Meg, Nichole, and myself) are hosting. I am so excited. I can't wait to see Jess. We have a lot of cute stuff for the shower. Plus we got the best suprise ever. Susan, her mother-n-law, is taking us to get a sneak peak at Logan via 4d ultrasound tomorrow night. It means so much to me to get to see him, especially since I
used to do ultrasound. I can personally count little toes and fingers on this precious angel. Not to mention I just can't wait until Feb to see him. Scott is coming Saturday and the Daddys are all going to hang out. Now we just need Bama to stay undefeated and beat LSU. Baby Ruppert says, "ROLL TIDE"!!!

week 10

I think we are having a boy. I know this sounds nuts but I really do. I crave all this food that I only ate with my dad growing up. Then the other day a complete strange told me she was always right and I was definantly having a boy. Plus when I was at a baby boutique the other day the lady wanted me to see her new bibs that she had made. The one she pulled out had the boy name that Scott and I have decided on. Coincidence? We will see in a few weeks.

My dear friend Kelly scanned me Saturday, so we got to see "Baby Ru". Her little girl, Hayden, helped scan me. The baby was very active. When you watch the video the head is one the right side and the legs/body is what is moving around. It is so amazing. Afterwards, Scott, Dennis, Kelly, Hayden, and I went to eat and had a great time just talking and laughing. Hayden drew us a picture of the baby's heart that we just finished watching. She is such a sweet child. Looking forward to AU-UA game with them.

week 9

Gramma Ruppert called this week to check in and see how Scott and I are doing. We talked for a while, and she said that she and Grandpa are very excited to be Grandparents again. I asked if she would want to come and help after the baby comes, and she was honored that I asked.
Week 9 means that the embryonic stage is over and baby is now considered a fetus from now throughout the rest of the 40 weeks. My pants are getting a little tight in the waist line and I am going to have to get new bras, but I still feel great. Maybe I have made it without any real morning sicknesses. Scott is being so sweet and affectionate. I have this need to get organized, even more than usual. My mom came over and we cleaned out my closet and went through the maternity clothes that my friend Amanda Mathews let me borrow. OMGosh, there are so many. She also works in marketing, so I have tons of work clothes. We love her. My mom stayed all day. It really meant a lot to get to spend time with her. She is very supportive and I appreciate all that she does.

week 8

The best part of this week was the end, bc we went to see Jess, Chris, Josh, Meg, and Kenzie. It was freezing but we didn't care. We got to see Logan's nursery which is adorable. It makes me want to start on our baby's, but of course, we have to wait to see what we are having. Jess looks adorable pregnant and it was cute to see Chris constantly check on her. Josh and Meg are homeless and are diligently looking for a house. They are in good spirits and are being patient. Patience is one thing none of us have, so I am very happy and proud for them. Kenzie is getting so big and is crawling everywhere. The girls had a great time just talking and catching up, and the boys definitely had a good time...maybe a little too much. We all went out for dinner and that was crazy. On the way home everyone almost wet there pants (especially Jess and I) bc we were laughing so hard at each other. Baby Ruppert got two new outfits and a lot of books. I felt great the whole time, until Josh cooked Venison and scrambled eggs for breakfast, I almost got sick. I just can't do cooked red meat. It is hard to believe that in a year there will be 3 babies instead of just one.

Week 7

On Tuesday, Scott and I went to our first OB appointment complete with an ultrasound. I am 7 weeks 3 days with a due date of May 23, 2010. The ultrasound was almost like an out of body experience. It was just hard to comprehend that was our baby. Maybe because I did ultrasound for so long and have always shown other people their babies for the first time. Scott was amazed to see the little heart that early and going that strong. My mom bought me two new books that I can't wait to read. She also got Scott a picture frame for the ultrasound picture that says UNDER CONSTRUCTION. How cute is that.

I also went and saw my friend Amanda in Birmingham this weekend. She is pregnant with number 3 and more than ready to deliver. It was great to talk with her and get advise from someone who has already done this. Alex, her son age 7, said that I was definitely having a girl. When I asked why, he replied, "well mom's having a girl and you two everything the same, so it must be a girl." He also won his Aunt Mel a prize to give to my baby girl, a pink octopus. In the event it is not a girl I could keep it. Her other son Patton who is 4 disagreed with the Alex's gender prediction. He said that I was having a boy and we were going to call him Stupid. Kids are great. I can't wait.

week 6

So this past week has been crazy. I realized that I am not the same ( at least energy wise) after hosting a work event that kept me out until around 10pm. You would have thought I pulled an all-nighter. I was so POOPED!!! It took me tow days to recover. I also had morning sickness for the first time. This is didn't mind , because it is a good sign that everything is progressing properly. If I don't over do things at night then everything is great. In fact, this is the best I have felt in years.

Sunday, September 27, 2009

Since we found out we were pregnant on vacation, this is the first time we were able to tell anyone in person. We told Aunt Carroll and Uncle Bud over dinner at Sinclair's on Wednesday. Then on Sunday, my cousin Bill and Garrett figured it out. We had planned on waiting until after Thursday when have an ultrasound, but Bill realized it when I refused to try a new type of drink.

We also went to church this morning, so baby had it's first communion. After the service, our priest Roger held hands with Scott and I and gave a very special and beautiful prayer for both us, our pregnancy, and our precious angel. It was all very emotional for me and Scott later said that it was a priceless moment and the highlight of the day. Can't wait to see what next week brings.

Monday, September 21, 2009

On Sunday, we went to pick up Shasta from my mom's. As much as I didn't want to go back to reality and work, I was excited to see my mom and go to the doctor to make it official. My mom and Ronald were super sweet. They had already bought baby's first present...."A Tub of Toys" for the bathtub. My mom is going to be a Nana or a GG, she has been waiting patiently. Thanks mom. I love you.

We are pregnant

Scott and I have just returned from the most incredible and memorable vacation of our lives. We spent the first part of our trip with our good friends, Chris and Katie, in Sandestin. I felt like I was about to start the entire time, so I just knew I wasn't pregnant. On Wednesday Sept 16 Scott and I went down to Seagrove/Seaside area to begin the second part of our vacation. I took a test that afternoon which gave us a conflicting result. Scott thought we were pregnant for sure but I didn't want to get my hopes up. The next morning we took another test, a digital one, so there were no question and guess what ? It said "PREGNANT". Hooray, we are so excited.

I first called my mom, who was overjoyed. Finally a grand baby. Then I had to call Jess. She has been there every step of the way and was a little aggravated that I did not take another test the day before. I didn't cry until I started talking to her, then I couldn't stop (but neither could she). Jess is also pregnant with Logan so he will only be 4 months older. Next it was time to call Megan, who also started crying, and so did I ....again. Kenzie is only 9 months old, so all of the kids will be extremely close in age. This was always the plan and now it seems it is going to work out perfectly.

THANK YOU GOD FOR BLESSING US WITH THIS BABY!
